Second Sunday Art Talks
These sessions are a platform on which participants can receive feedback, learn a new technique, or just be inspired to make art. Please feel free to bring in any work you are developing or have finished. The discussion and activities are very much created by participants. Work you present does not have to be relevant to the chosen topic!
Overall, this will be a free-flowing process presenting the opportunity for participants to receive what they need from an educational, professionally guided, group environment.
For beginning artists looking to form a strong foundation in the arts, this space is an opportunity to become educated in the process, language, and community of the true art world.
For practicing artists, these sessions will be an opportunity to receive feedback, clarify an idea, and learn more about specific areas of interest.

Form & Function

Description: Discuss concept in relation to aesthetics in functional/interactive jewelry or sculpture. Demo on hinge construction.
Session will begin with a presentation of this topic with examples of work by professional artists, followed by a group critique/discussion using the subject matter presented by participants and teacher. A demonstration will be given on the relevant technique/topic and all will be free to practice and receive feedback from others.
