Double Form/Black Coral Earrings

Double Forms

These are called "Double Forms" because of the use of two pieces of wire differing in both shape and size put together in a beautiful way to create a kind of liquid movement.  It almost looks as if these shapes are continuously moving and transforming right in front of your eyes.  You're not alone in the feeling of not being able to look away from these!

Black Coral Earrings

Michele Judge hand collected this black coral from the Caribbean beaches of Mexico, and Puerto Rico.  This method was taught to her by the Mexican street arts in Mexico by using the hear of a flame to allow the hardened coral to become malleable and willingly bend towards the flame.  After cooling, the coral returns back to it's normal state of a hard, wood-like material that, when polished, has a beautiful mahogany sheen.  The individually formed black coral combined with the colored seeds of Central and South America creates a lovely organic shape.
