Crab Buckle

Mechanical Crab

Item# BS002

$250

This unusual buckle is actually made from a vintage ashtray Michele found at an outdoor market in the streets of Mexico City!  The top shell of the crab that opens and closes to once hide the ashes of cigarets, now hides the secret workings of this mechanical crab.  Judge uses gears from antique pocket watches perhaps from the same decade to create the crab's inner workings.  A single bolt holds together the gears and the crab in place on top of a hand fabricated copper plate.  A hand formed nickle silver frame encases the pieces with bronze rivets.  The back is signed and dated by the artist.  You are sure to be the only person to have a buckle quite like this one!

*Buckles do not include belts.  Please contact the artist for a custom belt in your size and color.
